Is your lunch causing deforestation?

Tropical deforestation accounts for about 15 percent of the world’s global warming emissions—that’s more than every car, truck, plane, ship, and train on earth! Think this is just something happening far away, removed from you and me? Think again. The paper you use, the meat you eat, even your Girl Scout cookies may contribute to deforestation. You can help advocate for practical, cost-effective solutions for reducing deforestation that can also save endangered plants and animals, and support sustainable development.
Palm oil is currently used in thousands of products we use every day and it’s being produced at a tremendous expense to our planet's tropical forests. Please urge the CEOs of Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart, Procter and Gamble, and Kraft, to take a lead role in driving the global market toward deforestation-free products.
